Transfer a domain to Cloudzyro

Transferring a domain to Cloudzyro means you manage it in the console alongside your sites and hosting, and renew it here. The domain keeps working throughout, and a year is added to its registration.

If you’d rather leave the domain where it is, you don’t need to transfer it: you can use it with a site or your Web Hosting from any registrar.

You can transfer .com, .co.uk, .uk, .net, .org and .io domains. A transfer costs the same as a year’s registration, plus tax, and includes that year:

Extension Transfer price
.com $36.99
.co.uk and .uk $21.99
.net $41.99
.org $42.99
.io $145.99

You pay in your own currency, and the checkout shows the total with tax before you pay. Owners and admins of a workspace can start a transfer.

Before you start: at your current registrar

Section titled “Before you start: at your current registrar”

For .com, .net, .org and .io:

  • Unlock the domain. This is often called the transfer lock or registrar lock.
  • Get its transfer code, also called the auth code or EPP code.
  • Check it wasn’t registered or transferred in the last 60 days. Until then the rules don’t let it move.

For .uk and .co.uk, there’s no transfer code. Instead, you ask your current registrar to change the domain’s IPS tag. The console shows you the tag to use when you start the transfer. Most registrars let you change it in their control panel (often under “Transfer out”), or by email. You can do it before or after you start the transfer in the console.

  1. In the console, open Domains and click Transfer in.

  2. Type the whole domain, like mybakery.co.uk, and click Continue.

  3. Enter the Transfer code from your current registrar. For a .uk domain, note the IPS tag shown instead.

  4. Enter the owner’s details, then click Continue.

  5. Check the summary, tick the box to confirm you own the domain (or have the owner’s permission) and accept the registration agreement and terms.

  6. Click Pay and start transfer, and pay in the secure checkout.

The domain shows in your list as Transfer in progress.

  • .com, .net, .org and .io: usually up to 5 to 7 days. Your current registrar may email you to confirm the transfer: approving it speeds things up.
  • .uk and .co.uk: once the IPS tag has been changed, it usually moves within a day.

We check every 10 minutes and email you when it lands, or if anything needs fixing. The domain keeps working the whole time.

The domain shows Transfer didn’t go through, with the reason on its page. It stays with your current registrar and keeps working. Fix the problem (usually a wrong transfer code, a domain that’s still locked, or one registered too recently), then start again from Domains with Transfer in. If you paid for the transfer and don’t want to try again, email support@cloudzyro.com about a refund.

If you’re stuck, email support@cloudzyro.com.
